N-Power: Osinbajo Snubs Scheme Discussing How Community Policing Will Work

Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo has consciously or unconsciously snubbed the N-Power beneficiaries while discussing community policing recently, Concise News reports. Speaking in Ondo State on Sunday during a condolence visit to the bereaved Fasoranti’s family, the country’s number two citizen accentuate on engaging the police and Army to combat insecurity. Prof Osinbajo says: “As you know, the President, very recently, met with the Service Chiefs, and also with the Inspector General of Police, and they have laid out a new policy on Community Policing. “One of the most important things is gathering intelligence and that is why we have Community Policing; where policemen will be trained in their own local governments and remain there. This is as close as we can get to the Community Policing structure that we expect to have. “The other thing is that we are also engaging the Army, so there will be a bit more military presence, especially along the roads and as you’ve heard, the Inspector General of Police has committed to full coverage with even helicopters.” Read more here.

N-Power: Man Who Almost Committed Suicide Now Benefits From Scheme (Video)

A beneficiary of the Federal Government’s N-Power programme and a former motorcycle rider, Shuaibu Abdul has narrated how he almost committed suicide because life was tough, Concise News reports. Abdul is now a beneficiary of one of the components of the N-Power scheme, N-Build and a proud automobile engineer. In a video posted on the official Twitter handle of the N-Power on Wednesday, Abdul has put his disappointments behind him and is excited about his future. The Kogi indigene says: “I am an Okada rider before. I rent the Okada. I deliver N2, 500 for the owner of the bike. I kept trying, even though I tried to give up and go and commit suicide. “Thereafter, I told myself to keep going. So far there is life, there is hope.” Read more here.
