The police have arrested some suspects allegedly involved in the killing of Mrs Funke Olakunrin, daughter of the Afenifere leader, Pa Reuben Fasoranti. Concise News reports that the spokesman for the Ondo State Police Command, Femi Joseph, confirmed this on Monday. According to him, the suspects were arrested when a team of security operatives stormed forests in an area near Ore in Ondo state, southwest Nigeria.

4. Tribunal Accepts 48 Videos Presented By Atiku, PDP Against INEC

Atiku Abubakar and his party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Monday tendered 48 video clips at the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal. Concise News learned that the videos were produced by the media adviser to the petitioner, Segun Sowunmi, to prove their case at the Tribunal. Atiku, candidate of the PDP in Nigeria’s 2019 presidential poll, is challenging President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory.

5. Presidency Reacts To Sesay’s Book On Chibok Schoolgirls

The Presidency has faulted some claims in a new book titled “Beneath The Tamarind Tree”, written about the kidnapping of 270 Chibok schoolgirls by former CNN journalist Isha Sesay. President Muhammadu Buhari‘s media aide Malam Garba Shehu on Monday noted that the book was hampered by misrepresentations. The media aide said that the book should serve the purpose of spotlighting the crimes against humanity by Boko Haram terrorists.

6. Supreme Court Rejects Suit Seeking Bulkachuwa’s Removal

The Supreme Court on Monday rejected a suit seeking the removal of Adamu Bulkachuwa, husband of the Court of Appeal’s President, Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa, Concise News reports. A five-man panel of the apex court dismissed the appeal by Usman Tuggar, challenging the election of Bulkachuwa as Senator for Bauchi North senatorial district on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

7. Kogi Election: Yahaya Bello’s APC Rival Says On Rescue Mission

Former Chief of Naval Staff retired Admiral Jibril Usman has vowed to rescue Kogi state from economic troubles should he become governor. The Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Police in Lagos state has denied killing a cleaner simply identified as Francis in Ilupeju, Concise News reports. Concise News understands that operatives of SARS allegedly killed the man via a stray bullet while chasing some Indian hemp smokers in the area.The victim was said to have died at the spot but the Police in a statement said he was killed by armed robbers.

President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Amaju Pinnick has dismissed reports claiming that the football body plans to sack Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr. Some reports, not on Concise News, claim that NFF was on the verge of sacking the German after Nigeria lost to Algeria in the semi-finals of the ongoing 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.

10. 2019 AFCON: Musa Finally Speaks On Algeria Defeat

Super Eagles assistant captain Ahmed Musa has thanked the team’s fans for backing them during the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt. Nigeria fell 2-1 to Algeria in the semi-finals, meaning they will take on Tunisia in the third-placed playoff. Musa, who was disappointed with the outcome of the clash, said the Eagles would do their best in the game against Tunisia on Wednesday.
