Super Eagles star Samuel Chukwueze became the youngest player to score at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) following his strike against South Africa on Wednesday.

Chukwueze, 20, and a Villareal winger, scored the first goal for Nigeria in a 2-1 win over the Bafana Bafana during a quarter-final clash at the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.

Bongani Zungu’s header in the 71st minute, after a VAR review, pegged back Nigeria.

However, with just one minute to the end of normal time, William Troost-Ekong secured the win for the three-time African champions.

Chukwueze’s showing during the match also earned him a Man of the Match award on the night.

Nigeria will now play the winner of the Ivory Coast Vs Algeria match in the semi-final on Sunday, July 14th.
