2. President Buhari Back To Abuja After AU Summit

President Muhammadu Buhari returned to Abuja on Monday after attending the 12th Extraordinary Summit of the African Union (AU) in Niamey, Niger Republic, Concise News reports. The presidential aircraft conveying the president and some members of his entourage landed at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja at about 1:25 p.m.

3. What Buba Galadima Said About Buhari At Presidential Election Tribunal

Buba Galadima, a factional member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), on Monday testified at the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal, Abuja, where he attacked President Muhammadu Buhari. Nigeria’s major opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and its presidential candidate in the 2019 election, Atiku Abubakar, presented Galadima as one of their witnesses in their suit challenging Buhari’s victory at the February 23 poll.

Founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) Prophet T.B. Joshua says God has asked him to pray for the protection of President Muhammadu Buhari and “wisdom enough” to lead Nigeria. The cleric, who made this known during a church service on Sunday, July 7, added that God told him that Buhari was “a human being and there is no perfect man on earth.”

5. SERAP Reacts As Court Orders FG To Publish Details Of Runaway Electricity Contractors

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has applauded the Federal High Court in Lagos for ordering the Federal Government to publish the names and payment details of contractors who allegedly collected money and disappeared without executing awarded electricity projects since the return to democracy in 1999. Justice Chuka Obiozor handed down the order on Friday in a suit filed by the anti-corruption advocacy group against the Ministry of Power.

In a statement on Monday by the Permanent Secretary, state Ministry of Health, Titilayo Goncalves, the victims died due to severe and high degree burns suffered from the inferno.

9. Tribunal Upholds Wike’s Re-election In Rivers State

The petition filed by the African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate in the 2019 general election, Biokpomabo Awara, against Independent National Electoral Commission, Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been thrown out by the Rivers State Governorship Election Tribunal. The Tribunal presided over by Justice K. A. Ojiako dismissed the petition on the ground that it was deemed abandoned on the ground of Paragraph 4 of the First Schedule of the Electoral Act.

10. 2019 AFCON: Why Nigerian Coach Was Sacked In Egypt

The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) said it parted ways with Nigeria’s Emmanuel Amuneke after a mutual agreement. Amuneke led the Taifa Stars to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2019, 39 years after the team’s last appearance in the competition.
