Nigeria Vs South Africa: What Rohr Should Do To Reach Semis

2019 AFCON: Gernot Rohr Identifies Three Players That Help Super Eagles Win

Eagles 70 Per Cent Ready For AFCON, Says Rohr

A former Green Eagles goalkeeper Emmanuel Okala has said that the Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, should select skillful players and be tactful in making substitutions in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) quarter-final clash against South Africa.

Concise News reports that the Eagles will face South Africa on Wednesday in Cairo, Egypt.

Okala, who was part of the victorious 1980 Green Eagles side, told NAN on Tuesday in Enugu that Rohr should know at this stage that there was no time for rehearsal and experiments.

“Rohr’s technical selection and reading of the game in Eagles last match against Cameroon was superb and he should continue in that line,” he said.

“The coach should be objective and focused to ensure that only those mentally and physically fit to deliver are selected to start the game on Wednesday in Cairo.”

Similarly, a Director in Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO), Ebere Amaraizu, said Rohr should ensure that his team were focused and prepared to win.

“Every member of the national team must be focused on the match against South Africa with all seriousness it deserves,” he said.

“Rohr will definitely have a lot of work to do since the Bafana Bafana side will surely throw up some tricky tactical moves to unsettle the Super Eagles.

“I will continue with millions of Nigerians to pray for their success on Wednesday.”
