AFCON 2019: How Buhari Reacted To Super Eagles' Victory Over Cameroon

Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated the country’s national team, the Super Eagles, for defeating Cameroon in the Africa Cup of Nations round of 16 encounter in Alexandria, Egypt on Saturday.

Eagles beat their Cameroonian counterparts 3-2 to advance to the quarter-final of the competition.

Reacting through his verified Twitter handle @MBuhari, President Buhari hailed the hard work and team spirit of the Nigerian team.

Odion Ighalo scored two goals to bring Nigeria level in the game after Cameroon had come from behind to lead 2-1.

The winning goal was scored by Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi. Nigeria now awaits the winner between Egypt and South Africa in the other round of 16 clash of the day in the qauter-final.
