Sensational songbird Simi has claimed that bloggers only tell negative stories about Nigeria, thereby making the outside world perceive it as the only truth about the country.

Concise news observes that the award-winning singer, in a now deleted post on her Instagram page on Friday said only negative stories make front pages in the newspapers and end up encouraging negative stereotypes about the country.

She wrote: “bloggers, you need to do better men. Most Nigerians go to you for ALL of their Nigerian news and most of what you have to offer is the pain, the bad, the evil, the chaos.”

“People come to u and practically everything u have to say is depressing. Everyone else sells their country so well, we wanna run there – but we drag our country in the mud so well, nobody sees anything good in us,” she wrote in parts.

The singer who is known to be very critical and vocal about certain social ills in times past in a recent post condemned acts of violence against women and children who she described as the  most vulnerable people in the society.

Simi had called for better protection of Nigerian women and girls from physical abuse and rape, after a viral video of a federal lawmaker Elisha Abbo assaulting a woman surfaced online.
