Atiku Denies Statement On INEC Server

Atiku Debunks Alleged Statement On INEC Server

Atiku Abubakar

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Nigeria’s 2019 election, Atiku Abubakar, has denied a statement on INEC server credited to him on social media.

Atiku was alleged to have said, “My Server Results Are Authentic and If judges frustrate the Justice we will take over the street. I will lead all Nigerians in a massive protest that mankind have never witness before”.

But the former vice president said on Sunday on Twitter that the quote was fake and handiwork of mischief makers.

His words: “The quote purportedly attributed to me with respect to INEC Server, an issue currently before the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal is fake and the handiwork of mischief makers”.

Atiku, who came second to President Muhammadu Buhari according to the result declared by INEC, is contesting the outcome of the poll at the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal with a strong claim the result he extracted from the Commission’s server showed that he won the election.

INEC has continually denied Atiku’s claim, saying that it had no server where such result was uploaded.
