Nigerian Domestic Workers In Saudi Reportedly Killed By Bosses

Nigerian Domestic workers killed by Saudi BossesTwo Nigerian female domestic workers have been reportedly seriously assaulted and killed in Saudi Arabia by their bosses.

It was gathered that the two women were said to have been trafficked to Saudi Arabia to work as maids in different households.

Reports online claim the women were killed within two weeks after being starved and brutally assaulted by their bosses.

Satellite Times reports that the first Nigerian girl to be killed was identified as Omotayo, a domestic worker in Riyadh.

Prior to her death, she sent photos of her battered self to a Whatsapp group called Strong Nigerian Ladies –  the group was created by Nigerian domestic workers in Saudi Arabia.

Omotayo revealed to the group that the Saudi family was owing her salaries and made her to eat leftover food and when she complained, she was heavily battered.

Shortly after she opened up on her suffering, she was alleged to have died.

There was another case of one Shola who died after she was attacked by her boss when she was doing house chores.

Adeola Oladipo who is another housemaid in the group recounted Shola’s ordeal.

She wrote, “Shola has been constantly assaulted and starved by her sponsor in Saudi Arabia. Whenever she demands for food they would always beat her up and she became so slim like somebody with HIV.

“One day her male boss came as usual to beat her while she was doing chores in the kitchen. The beating became so severe she had to defend herself with a knife. In the process the knife cut her boss and her sponsor hit her on the neck and she collapsed. When the boss saw that Shola was dying, he rushed her to the hospital where he said she suddenly fell ill. A few days later, the Nigerian gave up the ghost in the hospital,” narrated Adeola.
