Sir Elton John’s son, Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John, has joined Premier League side Watford’s academy, Concise News has reliably gathered.
John, performer of such hits as Rocket Man and Tiny Dancer, used to to be the chairman of the club, taking over the position in 1976 with the intention of taking the Hornets to the top, and achieving that feat in 1982.
Now a father of two alongside husband David Furnish, the pop star cuts a proud figure as he and his partner strive to make sure their kids have a ‘normal life’.
Speaking of seven-year-old Zachary and five-year-old Elijah, John told the Daily Star:
“They’re thriving. They’re seven and five now. Zachary is incredibly into soccer.
“He plays for the Watford Academy team.”
Elijah, however, may not follow in his brother’s footsteps, but instead perhaps those of his father:
“Elijah loves music – they both do – but especially Elijah.”
The pair’s desire to ensure their children have regular lives may be hindered by John’s fame, but the couple are doing everything they can to make it happen, according to Goal.
“They are great kids,” the singer said, “We want them to have a normal life, to go to school and not be celebrity kids.”
With Watford having opened a new stand named after John in December of 2014, Zachary may one day hope to turn out at Vicarage Road under his famous father’s name.
