Ikeja Electric has attributed the current power outage in some of its network areas to the heavy rainfall on March 20 which destroyed its equipment.
The company’s Head of Corporate Communications Felix Ofulue said the rainfall destroyed Abule-Tailor 33kv line, Ipaja 11kv and Amikanle 11kv line.
According to him, the areas affected by the blackout included Ikola, Amikanle, Command Road, Olodan, Ekoro Road, Abule-Tailor and environs.
He however said power supply to the affected areas would be restored shortly as maintenance teams were already effecting repairs.
Ofulue said the company ”highly regrets” the inconveniences the protracted blackout might have caused its customers.
