Ibrahim Idris the Inspector-General of Police, has carried out an on-the-spot assessment of security arrangement at the Kaduna airport and its surroundings.
At the inspection on Sunday, the Police IG also assured passengers of maximum security at the Kaduna airport.
The Police boss was received by Joshak Habila, the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), Operations and other senior police officers.
Ibrahim Idris, who inspected the security control room, arrival and departure hall, was carrying out the tour as part of the security preparation ahead of the closure of the Abuja International Airport on March 8.
The IGP also visited the Rigasa Railway, which is not very far from the airport.
Idris said they would be three helicopters on constant area patrol, as well as more personnel on ground to provide security to buses and trains that would be stationed to transport passengers to Abuja.
Acting President Yemi Osinbajo had last week visited the Kaduna International Airport to ascertain the progress of its renovation, ahead of the March 8, 2017 closure of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
