Police Arrest Pastor For Killing Colleague In Osun State



Police have arrested a pastor identified as Timothy Abiola for allegedly killing a fellow pastor, one Bamijiri Ilori in Osun State.

The Public Relations Officer for the Osun State command Folasade Odoro confirmed the incident in a statement.

The names of both pastors’ churches were not stated. But the PPRO said Abiola shot his colleague with a locally-made gun. The reason for the action has yet to be ascertained.

Recover gun from suspect

Odoro revealed that the gun has been recovered by the police. while stating that the incident happened in Ikire.

She said the suspect was arrested following a report made to the police by a relative of the deceased cleric.

‘Pastor confesses for killing pastor’

In her words: “Ilori had confessed to the police. Investigation into the killing has started and the suspect will soon be charged to court.”

She also disclosed that the remains of the late pastor has been deposited at the Catholic Hospital’s morgue in the Oluyoro area, Apomu, for autopsy.

A similar incident had occurred in January 2014, when a pastor identified as Adepoju, stabbed his colleague and friend Pastor Julius Oguntoye to death in Gbongan, Osun State.
