Change Of Baton: Edo Sets Up 19-member Transition Committee

The Edo State government has set up 19-member Transition Committee to ensure smooth handover of administration by Governor Adams Oshiomhole to Godwin Obaseki on November 12.

Peter Okhiria, Chief Press Secretary to Oshiomhole, disclosed this in Benin on Monday.

Okhiria said Prof. Julius Ihonvbere is Chairman of the Committee. Messrs Henry Idahagbon, Osarodion Ogie, John Inegbedion as well as Aihanuwa Eregie are members.

Others are Joe Okojie, Igbinidu Inneh, Joseph Eboigbe, Taiwo Akerele, as well as Sen. Domingo Obende. Aisosa Amadasun and Rev. Emmanuel Egharevba are also members.

Elder Pius Omofuma, Theo Okoh, Ben Ogbebor, Mrs Magdalene Ogbebulu, Mrs Benedicta Attoh, Osaze Ojo and Ahmed Mamudu are also members.

The incoming governor Obaseki won election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress on September 28. The PDP candidate has however vowed to challenge the election result and reclaim its mandate.
