A member of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly Nkemka Onuma has allegedly beaten up and threatened Grace Egbo of the Tribune Newspaper.

Grace Egbo was one of the journalists allegedly assaulted by Onuma and his political thugs who were close to fourty in number.

Other journalists who were also assaulted by the Afikpo South West lawmaker are the Nation newspaper’s Ogochukwu Anioke, and Pilot’s Samson Nwafor.

Grace who is pregnant, was hit on the stomach and face by the lawmaker and his thugs with others also sustaining varying degrees of injuries.

He also warned them from covering activities at the Ebonyi House of Assembly complex during the incident that took place on Wednesday.

You will recall that the video of a senator beating up a female store keeper in a sex toy in Abuja recently went viral on social media.

The incident forced the Senate to set up an ad-hoc committee to probe the lawmaker involved in the case, Sen Elisha Abbo representing Adamawa-north.
